Caffeine math
How Much Caffeine Is in Sodaslim? About 140 mg, Cup by Cup
One Sodaslim capsule has about 140 mg of caffeine: 138 mg of caffeine anhydrous, under 4 mg from green tea extract and a small, unstated amount from green coffee. That is about one 12-oz cup of brewed coffee, which the FDA puts at 113-247 mg, and about a third of the 400 mg a day the FDA calls usually safe for healthy adults.

On the label
How much caffeine does one Sodaslim capsule contain?
About 140 mg. The label prints 138 mg of caffeine anhydrous, and two of the plant extracts add a little more.
The exact total is not on the label. Green tea extract is standardized to under 3% caffeine, so its 130 mg adds under 4 mg. Green coffee extract also carries some caffeine, but the label does not say how much. Add it up and you get about 140 mg per capsule.
| Ingredient | Printed amount | Caffeine it adds |
|---|---|---|
| Caffeine anhydrous | 138 mg | 138 mg |
| Green tea extract (under 3% caffeine) | 130 mg | Under 4 mg |
| Green coffee bean extract | 130 mg | Not published |
| Raspberry ketone, garcinia extract | 130 mg each | None |
| Total per capsule | 658 mg of ingredients | About 140 mg |
"Anhydrous" just means dried: the same caffeine molecule as in coffee. The full panel sits on the Sodaslim Supplement Facts page.
Cup count
How does Sodaslim's caffeine compare to coffee, tea and soda?
One capsule matches about one 12-oz cup of brewed coffee. The FDA lists brewed coffee at 113-247 mg per 12 ounces, so 140 mg sits at the mild end of that range (FDA: How much caffeine is too much).
| Drink or product | Caffeine | Compared with one capsule |
|---|---|---|
| One Sodaslim capsule | About 140 mg | Baseline |
| Brewed coffee, 12 oz | 113-247 mg | Slightly less to nearly double |
| Black tea, 12 oz | 71 mg | About half |
| Green tea, 12 oz | 37 mg | About a quarter |
| Caffeinated soft drink, 12 oz | 23-83 mg | A sixth to about 60% |
| Energy drink, 12 oz | 41-246 mg | A third to nearly double |
So a capsule is more like your morning mug than a soda. One difference: a cup can be sipped slowly, while a capsule delivers its whole dose at once.
Daily total
How much caffeine a day if you take Sodaslim and still drink coffee?
With one capsule, you have about 260 mg left before you reach 400 mg a day. The FDA says 400 mg is not generally linked to harmful effects in healthy adults (FDA: How much caffeine is too much).
| Your day | Estimated total | Under 400 mg? |
|---|---|---|
| Capsule only | About 140 mg | Yes |
| Capsule + one green tea | About 177 mg | Yes |
| Capsule + one soda | About 163-223 mg | Yes |
| Capsule + one brewed coffee | About 253-387 mg | Yes, but close at the high end |
| Capsule + one energy drink | About 181-386 mg | Usually, but check the can |
| Capsule + two brewed coffees | About 366-634 mg | Often no |
Coffee-shop cups are often larger than 12 ounces, so the real number can run higher. The simplest plan: let the capsule replace one cup, not sit on top of your usual two or three. Our caffeine guide has a fuller list of sources.
Timing
When should you take Sodaslim so it does not disturb sleep?
In the morning. The label only says one capsule daily; the sales page adds "in the morning", and that is a sensible way to protect sleep. Caffeine has a half-life of about 5 hours in adults, according to StatPearls (StatPearls: Caffeine).
About 70 mg is still active 5 hours later. MedlinePlus says caffeine peaks in about an hour and its effects last 4-6 hours (MedlinePlus: Caffeine). A capsule at 8 am has mostly faded by bedtime. One taken at 4 pm may not have.
The half-life runs longer in late pregnancy and in liver disease (StatPearls: Caffeine).
Warning signs
What does too much caffeine feel like?
The FDA lists a fast heart rate, palpitations, jitters, anxiety, trouble sleeping, an upset stomach and headache as signs of too much caffeine (FDA: How much caffeine is too much). If they start with Sodaslim, add up your day's caffeine first.
- Shaky hands or a restless, wired feeling.
- Trouble falling asleep, or waking at 3 am.
- Heartburn or a sour stomach after the capsule.
- Headache, often when caffeine wears off.
The FDA warns that about 1,200 mg taken quickly can cause seizures (FDA: How much caffeine is too much). It has also acted against bulk caffeine powders (FDA: Highly concentrated caffeine guidance). A pre-measured capsule avoids that measuring risk, if you take one a day. The side effects page covers the other ingredients too.
Who should be careful
Which people need to be careful with a 140 mg caffeine capsule?
Anyone under 18, pregnant or nursing should skip it, per the label. Others with health conditions or certain medicines should ask a doctor first.
Under 18, pregnant or nursing
The label rules out these groups. ACOG advises under 200 mg of caffeine a day in pregnancy (ACOG: Caffeine in pregnancy).
Heart, blood pressure, anxiety, sleep
MedlinePlus says to check with a provider if you have a heart rhythm problem, high blood pressure, anxiety, insomnia, migraines, reflux or ulcers (MedlinePlus: Caffeine).
Some medicines
Caffeine interacts with stimulants, certain antibiotics, asthma medicines and heart medicines (MedlinePlus: Caffeine). StatPearls says to avoid it with tizanidine and use care with bupropion (StatPearls: Caffeine). Mayo Clinic warns against combining it with ephedrine (Mayo Clinic: Caffeine limits).
Caffeine-sensitive people
If half a cup makes you jittery, a full cup's worth may be too much. Seizure disorders and liver disease also call for a doctor's view.
Chest pain, a racing or irregular heartbeat, or fainting need medical care right away. Stop the capsules and do not wait to see if it passes.
The honest part
Does the caffeine in Sodaslim help with weight?
A little, at best. The NIH Office of Dietary Supplements reports that 100 mg of caffeine raised calorie burn by about 9 calories an hour for a few hours, and that people build tolerance (NIH ODS: Weight-loss supplements (HP)) (NIH ODS: Weight-loss supplements (consumer)).
That makes caffeine the one ingredient in Sodaslim with a measurable effect. The other four sit below trial doses or have no human data of their own. Green coffee extract trials used 180-200 mg a day, and the capsule has 130 mg. Green tea extract sits below its lowest trial dose too (Cochrane: Green tea for weight loss).
So Sodaslim is best seen as a caffeine capsule with small plant-extract add-ons. Lasting change still comes from food and activity, at about 1-2 pounds a week, per the CDC (CDC: Steps for losing weight). The caffeine ingredient page has the full evidence.

FAQ
Sodaslim caffeine questions
How does Sodaslim's caffeine compare with tea and soda?
One capsule, at about 140 mg, has roughly twice the caffeine of a 12-oz black tea (71 mg) and more than any 12-oz soda (23-83 mg), per the FDA. It is closest to one 12-oz brewed coffee, which the FDA puts at 113-247 mg.
Is 140 mg of caffeine a lot for one capsule?
It is a moderate dose, about one cup of coffee and a third of the 400 mg a day the FDA calls usually safe for healthy adults. It can feel stronger if you rarely drink caffeine, because the whole dose arrives at once.
Will Sodaslim keep me awake at night?
It can if you take it late. Caffeine has a half-life of about 5 hours, so half of an afternoon dose is still active in the evening. Take the capsule in the morning, skip caffeine after early afternoon, and cut back if sleep suffers.
Can I drink coffee on the same day I take Sodaslim?
Usually yes, within limits. One capsule plus one 12-oz brewed coffee comes to about 253-387 mg, under the FDA's 400 mg daily figure. Two or more large coffees can push you over, so let the capsule replace a cup rather than add to it.
Does the green tea in Sodaslim add caffeine?
Only a little. The green tea extract is standardized to under 3% caffeine, so its 130 mg adds under 4 mg. Green coffee extract adds an unstated small amount. Almost all of it comes from the 138 mg of caffeine anhydrous.
Can I take two Sodaslim capsules for more energy?
No. The label says to take one capsule daily and not to exceed the recommended dose. Two capsules would be about 280 mg of caffeine, close to three cups of coffee, before any drinks. That brings more jitters and worse sleep.
